Yes this is Warhammer : Dark Omen, old but great fantasy - real time strategy. We command regiments of mercenaries, with his Cmd. Morgen Bernhardt - main hero. The game have multiplayer option so after very interesting campaign you can play with others on the web.
Campaign is concentrated on resurrection of evil - Dread King. Shadow of his undead hordes is spreading in the Empire and Bernhardt is hired by Imperor of the Empire to do some investigation - of course killing anyone and anything included. http://warhammeronlineaor.blog.com/ - its my new blog so if you want check it here
He fight with evil Vampire in Slavenia - count Manfred Von Carstain, he destroy - Hand of Nagash - great necromancer on his skeleton chariot and Black Grail Knights in Brettonia. After that is time for Dread King - the battle with him is difficult but all this adventure is awesome and i sometimes play again in this game…ive played in this game 8 year ago or maybe 9..
Mark of Chaos is maybe better with audio - video effects but this game have greater spirit!

Yes, I recall this game very well. It was one of the most engaging and colourful tactical games I have ever played. I simply adored the characterisation. The only downside is it was too short and too soon it was all over
